朝鲜开港后至20世纪初,中朝之间的海上贸易日渐发达起来,在两国的主要贸易商品中,棉布和人参各有其鲜明的特征。棉布贸易发展大致可划分为三个不同阶段,即通过日本展开的中介贸易、中朝直接开展贸易以及贸易的衰落三个阶段;此外,人参是中朝贸易中深受中国人民喜爱的商品,朝鲜开港后始少量通过海路输送到中国,甲午战后大量出口至烟台,并由烟台至上海转口到海内外需要的地区,同时也因其丰厚的利润而导致走私问题日益严重。

From the time Korea opened port to the early twentieth century,Sino-Korean maritime trade developed gradually.Cotton cloth trade and ginseng trade have distinct characteristics in the main commodities of Sino-Korean trade during this period.The development of cotton cloth trade between China and Korea can be roughly divided into three stages:the intermediary trade through Japan,the direct trade between China and Korea,and decline of the trade.Besides,ginseng is a favorite commodity among Chinese people in Sino-Korean trade.After Korean opened the port,a small amount of ginseng were transported to China through the sea road.After Sino Japanese War of 1894,it was exported to Yantai and transferred from Yantai to Shanghai to domestic and overseas areas.But it also causes serious smuggling problems due to its huge profits.
